4/2/2019 – The Integrated Imagery and Intelligence (I3) project received an Authorization to Operate (ATO) on the Joint Worldwide Intelligence Communications System (JWICS) Commercial Cloud Services (C2S) for the Pacific Air Force (PACAF) on March 27, 2019, from the Department of the Air Force. The ATO sets a precedent for the deployment of “cloud-native” I3 capabilities and establishes lessons for follow-on fielding of new capabilities. The I3 Order of Battle (OB) Management tools developed by the DI team for Air and Ground enemy Force Disposition (FD) solve real-world gaps identified by various COCOMS and documented Joint Staff requirements outlined in the Capability Definition Package (CDP). These tools have the following direct operational impacts: 1) Supplement and update intelligence information as it becomes available instead of something that happens a few times a month; 2) Maintain data in authoritative sources rather than manually created, updated, and infrequently disseminated static Excel spreadsheets; and 3) Significantly reduces maintenance from 20 to 25 minutes to under a minute.
